Enjoying the Singapore Chinese Orchestra at the Botanic Garden

Sunday, we got a text from Michelle, asking if we wanted to join them at Universal Studios.  It was pouring down rain, and I was hoping to take Erin to a concert at the Botanic Gardens later that day, so we sadly declined.  That was one of the things on Erin's "Singapore to-do list", but we were worried that it wasn't a good day for it.  Plus, they don't have the Harry Potter Theme Park here, so I wasn't too disappointed not to go.  Michelle told us later that it was "Family Day" for a Singapore Indian station, so the park was more crowded than she had ever seen it, and they only stayed for 1/2 hour.  Good thing we didn't go!

The concert at the Botanic Garden started at 6 PM, so we filled up our cooler with beer wine, water, cheese, and crackers, and took the bus to the park.  Because we've had lots of practice, Rich and I are getting good at getting to the Gardens and the stage area.  I'm not sure if Erin was duly impressed by our mad skills.

The Chinese Orchestra has many instruments that are not familiar to Westerners.  There was one instrument that looked somewhat like a flute, but sounded like a saxophone.  They had CD's for sale, which I bought, and giveaways if you downloaded their app, which I did.  It was another fun concert.  I am so glad that Michelle told me to be on the lookout for these free concerts at the Botanic Gardens!

Look what's growing in the Ginger Garden!
