We're going home... :(
As I was returning from Muchacho's with Kjersten and Colleen, I listened to them talk about their International Medical Plans, and their doctor and hospital visits in Singapore. Kjersten was returning to the United States for a wedding, and had some type of rash on her finger, and was planning to visit a doctor "at home". Colleen advised her that she may be unable to do so because of the International Medical Coverage. As I listened to them talk, it occurred to me that these two young couples were "all in" in Singapore, and I wasn't. Since arriving on January 31st, I had spent 3 1/2 months in Singapore, and 3 1/2 months at home in Chicago. On this stint, I was planning to be in Singapore for 3 1/2 months, before returning to the States for 6 weeks. It just felt as if I would never be fully committed to Singapore.
At dinner that evening, Rich told me that we had to return to Chicago. Singapore has a rule that brokers can't be licensed in other countries, and, despite the fact that Rich had made it very clear that he was registered in the States, and planned to continue to be registered in the States, the regulators had refused to allow the double registration. Lawyers had spent countless hours working on an exception, but to no avail.
Since returning on September 1st, I have had the feeling that I was living in Singapore on borrowed time. I had been anxious to do the things that I wanted to do most, and take in all the delights of Singapore while I was still able. From that evening on, I didn't waste any time...

Deb, what's the date of your return? Are you home already?
